faith shown indeed in trust, not in need of trade

But someone will say, "You have faith and I have works." Show me your faith apart from your works, and I will show you my faith by my works. You believe that God is one; you do well. Even the demons believe—and shudder! Do you want to be shown, you foolish person, that faith apart from works is useless? Was not Abraham our father justified by works when he offered up his son Isaac on the altar? You see that faith was active along with his works, and faith was completed by his works; and the Scripture was fulfilled that says, "Abraham believed God, and it was counted to him as righteousness"—and he was called a friend of God. You see that a person is justified by works and not by faith alone. And in the same way was not also Rahab the prostitute justified by works when she received the messengers and sent them out by another way? For as the body apart from the spirit is dead, so also faith apart from works is dead.

18	也許有人要說，你有信心，我有行為；請把你沒有行為的信心指給我看，我就藉著我的行為，把我的信心指給你看。
19	你信　神只有一位，你信的不錯；就連鬼魔也信，卻是戰兢。
20	愚昧的人哪，你願意知道沒有行為的信心是沒有用的嗎？
21	我們的祖先亞伯拉罕，把他的兒子以撒獻在祭壇上，不是因行為稱義嗎？
22	你看，他的信心與行為是一致的，信心就因著行為得到完全了；
23	這正應驗了經上所說的："亞伯拉罕信　神，這就算為他的義。"他也被稱為　神的朋友。
24	可見人稱義是因著行為，不僅是因著信心。
25	照樣，妓女喇合接待了探子，又從另一條路把他們送走，不也是因行為稱義嗎？
26	身體沒有靈魂是死的，照樣，信心沒有行為也是死的。
